Developing modern web applications with microservices offers a lot of promise. But let's face it, the complexity can be daunting, and things can break. How is your application going to respond when the network goes down, or a drive fails, or someone just accidentally unplugs the server? In this talk you will learn about microservice resiliency patterns that help keep your applications humming along when things go wrong. Learn how to write applications that respond and recover gracefully in the face of disaster, using features like fallback functions and client-side request throttling. Using JavaScript in the browser, and Node.js on the server, we will take a deep dive into the circuit breaker pattern, how it works, and how you can use it to harden your applications to failure.
